Busy Little Ben
Yes that's right, I've been rather busy lately, but here's a quick update... I just transferred from Dick Smith in Riccarton to Dick Smith in Rangiora, I've worked in 3 Dick Smith stores in 3 months and I've only been paid for 2 days (well at least it's something to do). Anyways, I'm going to a leaders training day tomorrow, we'll be doing something involving snow (its winter here), it will be fun. Saturday the 1st of July marks the beginning of Kidsfest, a programme involving a whole lot of fun and games directed at small children, and I've been asked to do sound at the local opening event... YAY. Oh and in 2 weeks I'm finishing work experience and leadering (I know its not a word) in another holiday programme, I believe we're going to supercarts, mini-golf, and a few other things. The day after the holiday programme is the first day for Get Smart Youth Conference, which I am attending, this will be my 3rd year going to this conference, every year I have been inspired by various speakers from around the world.

I Almost Forgot To Give This A Title
Wow, its been a very busy few weeks. First, I had eastercamp, which was probably one of the best I've ever been to. Then I had my birthday (I turned 18), only had a small party with family and a few friends. Then I had Noise, it was great, I absolutely loved it and I intend on going again next year. And now I now have work placement (work without getting paid) at a big electronics store, they are probably gonna offer me a full-time job, my only problem with it is that its on the other side of town... And bus stops are cold in winter.
And that was another episode of my life... Goodbye

I forgot about what I've been doing recently
But I know what I'm doing in the near future....
next weekend being Easter, I'm going to Eastercamp (if you want to know what it is, refer to my earlier post). The next week I'll be doing work experience. The weekend after that is ANZAC day (I can' be bothered explaining, just google it), which means I got Monday off, then teachers only day on Tuesday, then on Thursday I'm going to another island for a music and worship conference called Noise, so I figured there's no point in going to the course for 1 day that week... yay, a whole week off.
If you have a Myspace, why not add me, chat to me and be cool like me: http://www.myspace.com/sort_of_normal

I've Had An Interesting Week
hello again,
Last saturday I went on a leaders training day, it involved going to an army obstacle course, it was quite fun, especially the flying fox that went straight into a pool of water... I only got completely soaked.
This week I've been doing assessments for the retail sales course, so far I've passed everything, including till balancing and calculations. I also might start doing my churches website and video notices, which should be fun.
anyways... bye

I'm Not THAT Slow
I just realized this morning that I scored a goal in hockey last night, it's the first goal I've scored in 5 or 6 years of playing the game (I think its because I'm usually playing defense/mid-field). I was originally trained as a goalie, but I only like playing that position in winter, and its summer here (haha to all those stuck in those winter months).
Oh and just to clarify, I play field (turf) hockey, not ice hockey.
And... Last night was the last hockey game this season, I will probably be playing again at the end of the year.

Wastedness
I am almost totally wasted, I played 2 games of hockey in a row...again (that's 1 hour of running and hitting a ball), so I'm really sleepy right now. I just lost the game.

Its All Good
Today I found out that the place that does the retail course I'm on also does drivers licenses FREE, that right, I'm going to get my license FREE, including driver instructing, YAY for Academy New Zealand.
I also got a Metrocard (cheaper bus fares)
and my dad took his computer to a computer company, they then made my dads computer work on broadband (they took the modem out)
Later,
Ben

This time
Im still feeling lazy, so im only gonna say the basics...
I started a retail and sales course, turns out my tutor is one of my friends uncles.
I drew (or possibly won) my hockey game today.
I left my keys in my friends bag, which will make getting into my house tomorrow difficult
and I still havnt had dinner.
and now, for the sake of food, i shall leave all you blog fanatics to your blog fanaticing (that almost seems like a word).

I Conquered It All
As I said in my last post, all this computer related stuff wasn't working, well... I CONQUERED IT ALL. I have wireless broadband (I accidentally left an 'a' out of the username) , my dads computer is running at normal speed (I took out the network card, probably gonna replace it with another one). I still hate computers.
I'm gonna be training another sound guy on how to use the church equipment later today, YAY, someone else to do my dirty work, its about time I got a break, I've been the only regular sound guy at my church for over a year now, we have other sound guys, but they either play guitars in the church band or they don't like doing it, so having another willing sound guy is a very good feeling and I'm looking forward to getting away from the sound desk for a while.
Anyway, since I'm getting up early to train this guy later, I should probably get to bed.
Goodnight
Ben

Inspiration and Frustration
Reading my friends blogs (which can be found here and here) has inspired me to update my own, so this time its not taking me multiple months to update, only multiple days... So here I go...
Oh the frustration, the frustration of my wireless broadband not working, the frustration of the network card I put in my dads computer making the whole system run at an incredibly slow speed. I maintain that I hate computers... I only spend most of my waking hours on one, Windows PC's are the worst, which is why I've resorted to getting a Mac (if I was a hardcore computer nerd I would get Linux, if I was an incredibly hardcore computer nerd I could name all the different versions of Linux, if I was Uber-ComputerNerdMan I could also name the difference between each version of Linux, windows, Mac, and even Unix).
Anyway, one of my favourite bands might be coming to my little country later this year, so my plan is to go see them, even if they are on a completely different island. So far 4 others have expressed interest in going... ROAD TRIP... Probably not, none of us have (or will have) full licences. Hitchhiking? hmmmm 5 people hitchhiking together to a different island, that'll work. Train/ferry? Do you have the money, coz I don't. Flying? Seems probable, although not as fun as the rest of the things I just said.

Past, Present and Future News
Well, its been a while since ive posted a blog, I almost forgot I had one.
I gots me a laptop, its a mac PowerBook G4 (as if that means anything to anyone reading this)but its got a DVD-R superdrive, OSX 10.4.4 Tiger (the newest operating system) as well as a few other things, like wireless... speaking of wireless, im getting a wireless network with broadband at my house tomorrow, 24x the speed of dialup , but it only has a 1 GB cap on it.
I went on holiday last week to a place called Kaiteriteri, it was soooooo good.
Im feeling very uncreative at the moment, so I'm just gonna stop typing and publish
